How to Establish a Balanced Healthy Life Style

What does healthy living look like?


Healthy living has a different meaning for everyone. There are many aspects to being, getting, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle; setting yourself and your loved ones up for success makes it easier to find joy in life.


If I can visualize something, it makes more sense to me. I have a better chance of remembering the information or making decisions based on the information I value, such as making healthy choices.

Picture a pizza or a pie divided into six pieces. Notice how each slice intercepts in the middle, taking a part of you.


Now name each piece something you value, such as family, friends, work, physical body, Spiritual needs, and nutritional needs. These are all things that make you whole, and when they are not in balance, you feel off or lack, sometimes depressed or more prone to making choices that do not aline with your life goals.

Consider each thing you do a topping on your pizza that supports one of the topics on each slice. The goal is to make your toppings even. Your toppings can overlap or belong to two categories, but you want to make a pretty even pizza. If you find that there is no balance, you can see where you might need to adjust some things to make a balance.
